What is a contractor?
A contractor is someone who receives income from a contract but are not employed on a permanent basis. This could be individuals who are self-employed and pay their own tax, it could also be individuals who are employed via an umbrella company and deduct their tax; or someone who is employed on a short-term contract, which could be 12 months for example.
